Volleyball Tournament Rules:
Registration & Schedule
- Entry Fee: $200 per team (includes up to 8 players)
- Team Limit: 15 teams
- Team Check-In: 10:30 AM
- Tournament Play Begins: 11:00 AM
Teams may arrive after 11:00 AM and begin play upon arrival; however, late arrival may require back-to-back games and could put teams at a competitive disadvantage.
Team Composition & Equipment
- Teams may be any mix of male and/or female players.
- Each team must provide a team captain as the primary contact on event day.
- Teams must use volleyballs provided by the event coordinator.
- Teams may roster 4–10 players, with 6 players on the court at one time.
Tournament Format
- Teams will play in a round-robin format.
- Winners of each round-robin bracket advance to a single-elimination tournament.
- After each match, teams must check in at the volleyball tent to report a win or loss.
Game Play & Scoring
- Rally scoring will be used; a point is awarded on every serve.
- Teams do not need to be serving to score.
- During a serve, the ball is playable if it contacts the net and crosses into the opponent’s court.
- After the serve, the ball remains playable whenever it contacts the net.
- The first team to 21 points wins; no win-by-two requirement.
Officials & Match Call
- Each team is responsible for providing a line judge for each game.
- Line judges may not be on the same team or from the same company and may be volunteers or bystanders.
- Teams will be announced three (3) times when it is their turn to play.
- Teams must report within 5 minutes or will forfeit their match.
- No phone calls or text notifications will be made.
Amenities & Conduct
- Water will be available at the beverage station.
- Free food will be served in the food court by the cook-off teams.
- Entry fee includes eight (8) event t-shirts, available at registration with wristbands.
- Team leaders are responsible for their team’s conduct.
- Teams exhibiting excessive alcohol use or confrontational behavior may be removed and not invited back, at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
