Rules:

REGISTRATION FEE $75 PER TEAM – 2 PLAYERS

NO GLASS CONTAINERS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!

LIMIT OF 30 TEAMS – SIGN UP EARLY TO ENSURE YOUR TEAM HAS A SPOT!

TEAM CAPTAIN CHECK IN @ 12:00PM.

HORSESHOE TOURNAMENT BEGINS AT 12:30PM AND TEAMS CAN START PLAYING AT THAT TIME.

PLAYERS CAN USE THEIR OWN HORSESHOES.

PINS WILL BE SET AT 40 FT. MEN MUST THROW FROM 40 FT, WOMEN MAY THROW FROM 30 FT AT THEIR DISCRETION

TEAMS CONSIST OF TWO PLAYERS; PARTNERS CANNOT BE CHANGED THROUGHOUT THE TOURNAMENT.

GAME ENDS AT 15 POINTS (WIN BY 2) OR 30 MINUTES, WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST.

CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND WILL PLAY TO 21 POINTS WITH NO TIME LIMIT.

DOUBLE ELIMINATION.

POINT SYSTEM:

  • 5 POINTS: SHOE ENCIRCLES THE PIN (RINGER)
  • 3 POINTS: SHOE IS LEANING UP AGAINST THE PIN
  • 1 POINT: SHOE IS TOUCHING THE PIN OR WITHIN THE WIDTH OF A HORSESHOE.

TEAM WITH THE CLOSEST HORSESHOE TO THE PIN GETS THE POINTS.

IF PLAYER HAS BOTH SHOES WITHIN POINT RANGE, THE PLAYER SCORES ON BOTH.

IF BOTH TEAMS HAVE BOTH SHOES WITHIN THE POINTS RANGE, ONLY THE CLOSEST SHOE/SHOES THAT BELONG TO THE SAME PLAYER SCORES THE POINT/POINTS. (I.E. 4 SHOES ARE THROWN AND ALL LAND WITHIN POINTS RANGE; ONLY THE CLOSEST SHOE RECEIVES THE POINTS AND THE OTHER 3 SHOES ARE VOID.) RINGERS CANCEL RINGERS, LEANERS CANCEL LEANERS.

FOULS: IF A HORSESHOE FIRST LANDS OUTSIDE OF THE PIT AND SETTLES WITHIN THE PIT, IT IS A FOUL SHOE, DOESN’T COUNT AND MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE PIT BEFORE THE NEXT SHOE IS THROWN. IF A HORSESHOE FIRST STRIKES ANY PART OF THE PIT (I.E. BACKSTOP, SIDES, ETC.) AND SETTLES IN THE PIT, IT IS A FOUL SHOE, DOESN’T COUNT AND MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE PIT BEFORE THE NEXT SHOE IS THROWN.

EACH TEAM WILL BE ANNOUNCED 3 TIMES WHEN IT’S THEIR TURN TO PLAY. IT IS THE TEAM’S RESPONSIBILITY TO BE WITHIN RANGE OF HEARING THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. FAILURE TO REPORT WITHIN 5 MINUTES WILL RESULT IN A FORFEIT OF THEIR MATCH. NO PHONE CALLS OR TEXTS WILL BE MADE BY THE OFFICIAL.

WATER WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PLAYERS AT BEVERAGE STATION.

FREE FOOD WILL BE SERVED IN COOK-OFF AREA

TEAM ENTRY FEE INCLUDES (2) T-SHIRTS TO BE PICKED UP AT THE REGISTRATION TABLE UPON ARRIVAL WITH WRISTBANDS.

TEAM LEADERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF THEIR TEAM MEMBERS. THOSE TEAMS EXHIBITING EXCESSIVE ALCOHOL OR CONFRONTATIONS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE AND NOT INVITED BACK NEXT YEAR. AT THE DISCRETION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
