  • Jack-Pot (Anything Goes Except for Dessert and Drinks) Brisket is Acceptable.

NO GLASS CONTAINERS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!

PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY REGISTERED COOK-OFF TEAMS MAY SET UP AND COOK FOOD IN THE CHILI SLAM TOURNAMENT AREA INCLUDING THE PARKING LOT.

EACH TEAM WILL HAVE A 10X10 SPACE TO UTILIZE. THOSE WITH BBQ PITS WILL BE ALLOWED EXTRA SPACE TO ACCOMMODATE PIT.

EACH 10X10 SPACE WILL RECEIVE (1) TABLE INCLUDED IN WITH REGISTRATION FEE. THERE WILL BE NO EXTRA TABLES AVAILABLE ONSITE.

ALL SPACES WILL BE ASSIGNED WITH SPONSORS RECEIVING PREFERRED PLACEMENT.

COOK-OFF TEAMS ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO UTILIZE THE PAVED AREAS ASSIGNED TO YOUR TEAM. TEAMS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SET UP ANY TENTS OR EQUIPMENT ON ANY ADJACENT AREAS, SUCH AS THE GRASS AREA BETWEEN THE COOK-OFF AND THE VOLLEYBALL/WASHERS/HORSESHOES EVENT AREA. TEAMS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SET UP ANY GAMES OR EVENTS OUTSIDE OF THEIR ASSIGNED AREA.

ACCESS TO ELECTRICITY MUST BE NOTED ON THE REGISTRATION FORM AND IS INCLUDED WITH REGISTRATION FEE. POWER WILL BE AVAlLABLE WITH EACH TEAM ALLOTTED NO MORE THAN 20A. 

EACH TEAM WILL NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN EXTENSION CORDS.

TEAMS WILL BE ASKED TO PROVIDE SIZE OF PIT PRIOR TO ASSIGNMENT ON LAYOUT. TEAMS NOT PROVIDING ACCURATE PIT INFORMATION MAY BE DISQUALIFIED AND NOT ALLOWED TO SET UP.

COOK-OFF AREA FOR LOADING AND UNLOADING ONLY. NO CARS, MOTORIZED VEHICLES OR ELECTRIC SCOOTERS WILL BE ALLOWED IN COOK-OFF AREA

BRING YOUR OWN CUPS, PLATES, SPOONS, FORKS & NAPKINS AS NEEDED FOR TASTE TESTING & SERVING. WE WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY UTENSILS. TEAMS ARE ENCOURAGED TO USE COMPOSTABLE SUPPLIES. COMPOSTING BINS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON SITE.

TEAMS ARE ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN CONDIMENTS SUCH AS CHEESE, CRACKERS, ONIONS, BREAD, SAUCE, ETC FOR GARNISHES

PLEASE ATTEMPT TO PREPARE ENOUGH FOOD FOR 20+ PEOPLE, PLUS THE JUDGES. TEAMS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO SERVE THEIR CONTEST ENTRY ITEMS.

NO GENERATORS ARE ALLOWED IN THE EVENT AREA OTHER THAN THOSE SUPPLIED BY EVENT.

NO MUSIC ALLOWED OTHER THAN MUSIC PLAYED BY EVENT DJ.

FOOD MAY BE PREPARED OFFSITE PRIOR TO THE JUDGING, OR PREPARED ONSITE.

BBQ PITS CAN START ARRIVING AT 7:30 AM; OTHER COOK-OFF TEAMS CAN START ARRIVING AT 8:30 AM. ALL TEAMS MUST BE ON SITE BY 10:30AM TO BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE.

FOOD PREPARED MUST BE FIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION! JUDGES CRITERIA: AROMA, COLOR, CONSISTENCY, TENDERNESS, TASTE & AFTERTASTE. JUDGING IS BASED ON EACH CATEGORY ABOVE WITH A SCALE OF 1-10; THE HIGHEST COLLECTIVE SCORE WILL BE THE WINNER.

EACH TEAM WILL BE PROVIDED A CONTAINER TO SUBMIT THEIR ENTRIES (TEAM CAN USE THEIR OWN CONTAINER FOR JACKPOT). A NUMBER WILL BE PRE-AFFIXED TO THE UNDERSIDE OF EACH PROVIDED CONTAINER. INSIDE EACH CONTAINER WILL BE A COPY OF THE SECRET NUMBER FOR THE TEAM CAPTAIN TO KEEP. IF YOU LOSE YOUR COPY OF THE NUMBER, THERE WILL BE NO WAY TO KNOW WHO IS THE WINNER.

JACKPOT ENTRIES WILL HAVE ADDITIONAL JUDGING CRITERIA INCLUDING 20% OF THE SCORE FROM PRESENTATION

TEAMS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING FOR:

(1) CUP OF CHILI IN PROVIDED CONTAINER

(6) INDIVIDUALLY CUT BABY BACK RIBS IN PROVIDED CONTAINER

(6) JACKPOT ENTRIES PROVIDED CONTAINER OR USE YOUR OWN FOR PRESENTATION SCORE

CONTAINERS WITH FOOD ARE TO BE DELIVERED BY THE TIME BELOW BY A TEAM MEMBER TO THE DESIGNATED AREA AT THE JUDGING STATION:

CHILI: 2:00PM

JACKPOT: 3:00PM

RIBS: 4:00PM

ENTRIES MUST BE TO THE JUDGES TENT WITHIN 15 MINUTES OF THE TURN IN TIME TO BE CONSIDERED. ENTRIES TURNED IN AFTER THE ABOVE TIMES WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED BY 5:00PM BY SECRET NUMBER ONLY.

TEAR DOWN CANNOT BEGIN UNTIL 5:30 PM OR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED!

TEAM LEADERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF THEIR TEAM MEMBERS. THOSE TEAMS EXHIBITING EXCESSIVE ALCOHOL, UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR, OR CONFRONTATIONS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE AND NOT INVITED BACK NEXT YEAR. AT THE DISCRETION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

TEAM ENTRY FEE INCLUDES (2) T-SHIRTS TO BE PICKED UP AT THE REGISTRATION TABLE WITH WRISTBANDS.
